Janette Vaughn, 89, a retired RN, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Janette loved her family and friends and sought to serve faithfully in her church. She retired after forty years of nursing, primarily at Parkland Hospital of Dallas, where she graduated from nursing school in 1954.
In her own words, “I was 23 when God drew me to himself…and I became his child.” Throughout the remainder of her life, Janette strove “to walk with God each day—not perfectly—just steadily on the way until he calls me home to himself.”
We celebrate Janette’s “home going” and invite you to seek after the Lord with all your heart.
Janette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles W. Vaughn; her parents, Erna Lou and Floyd George Phillips; two sisters, Betty McFarland and Helen Roland; and husband George A. Armstrong.
She is survived by her son Thomas Kenneth Garner and his wife, Rhonda, of Boerne, TX; stepsons Larry Vaughn of Alvin, TX, Darrell Vaughn of Bryant, AR and Richard Vaughn of Bryant, AR; stepdaughter Pamela Rosinbaum of Benton, AR; brothers Floyd Phillips of Athens, TX and Aubrey Phillips of Thomasville, GA; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
