Janet was born on June 28, 1949 in Waterbury, CT, the second child to Rene and Irene Drolet.
She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BA in English. She was swept off her feet by John Sauermann, and they were married on December 8, 1973 in Middletown, CT. John's work took them to Texas in 1982, where Janet began bookkeeping and accounting work from home which into a full time career with CPA firms in Arlington.
Janet was blessed with two baby boys, Robert John on December 22, 1979 and Steven Lloyd on February 24, 1982. She stayed home with them through the early years, and was known among their friends as the mom who had their back and treated them as one of her own. She served as Cub Scout leader, a team mom, and tour guide as the family explored their new home.
She enjoyed spending weekends on their family land in Evant, TX, where she was known with the locals in the antique stores she loved to visit. She was an ultra-competitive card and charades player with their friends there, and loved when the spring wildflowers would bloom. She adored her Dachsund, Zoom Zoom, and they loved taking walks together every day. She started every morning with the NY Times crossword puzzle, and was an avid reader.
