Janet Ellen Hart Anderson

Janet Ellen Hart Anderson, 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, in Mansfield, TX. Private Graveside: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Janet was born on June 3, 1924, in Rochester, NY, to George Carnes Matteson and Berenice Davidson Matteson. She worked for IBM in Albuquerque, NM, where she met and married George Hart in 1951. They moved to Fort Worth, TX, and later Arlington, TX to raise their family. Janet was married to George for 27 years until he passed in 1978. In 1985, she married Karl Anderson. He passed in 2009. Janet was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Arlington, 1st United Methodist Church in Bedford, Grace Community Church in Arlington, Gateway Church in Grand Prairie and Church on the Hill in Cedar Hill. Janet served others through volunteering at the PTA, Arlington Handicap Association, Meals on Wheels, Arlington Starving Artists, Bible Study Fellowship, and by sponsoring orphaned children. She loved serving in church and telling people about Jesus. Janet's life changed in 1976 when she and her husband, George, learned about the fullness of God. Knowing and serving her Heavenly Father became her life's passion, and Janet shared this experience with each of her children, all of whom now share her passion for God and His Word. Janet was a blessing and a light to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Berenice Matteson; sisters, Joy Matteson and Georgia Matteson; first husband, George Hart; and second husband, Karl Anderson. Survivors - Children: Chris Hart, Sr. and wife, Donna; Georgia Hart Stanley and husband, Everett; Tyler Hart and wife, DeeDee; Jonathan Hart and wife, Shelly; grandchildren: Chris Hart, Jr. and wife, Molly; Benjamin Hart; Zachary Hart; David Stanley and wife, Avery; Katy Stanley; Caleb Stanley; Regan Hart and wife, Marianne; Taryn Hart; Sydney Hart; Jennifer Black and husband, Rodney; Amy Moore and husband, Rich; Stephanie Abernathy and husband, Clint; great-grandchildren: Blakely Hart, Cooper Hart, Landry Hart, Grayson Hart, Colin Stanley, Ethan Stanley, Beckett Hart, Brooks Hart, Noah Black, Rylee Black, Ava Valencia, Lucas Valencia, Payton Mendenhall, Shaye Abernathy, Gracie Abernathy, Layken Abernathy and Breckyn Abernathy due this summer.
