ARLINGTON -- James J. Manser, 77, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.
Jim was born June 18, 1936, to Margaret and John Manser in Detroit, Mich. He proudly served in the Marine Corps and was an active member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church where he served as an usher and volunteered in the food pantry. He loved serving where he was needed and was always willing to help. He retired from the National Elevator Industry in 1998 and enjoyed traveling the U.S. with his wife of 47 years, Ann. He was often in the yard gardening and he loved a good apple pie! He was a proud father and husband who was dedicated to his family.
Never did win that damn lottery!
He was predeceased by his wife, Ann, and sister, Mary Ellen.
Survivors: Son, James Jr. (Marites); daughters, Christine (Edward Marohn) and Elizabeth (David Ronsky); grandchildren, Mahalea, Cheyserr, Juliann, Jamie, Tristan, Meaghan, Lauren, Emily and Ava; great-grandson, Aaron; his brothers, Alfred, William, John, Patrick, Gerald, Harold and Edward; sisters, Anne, Margaret, Eileen and Catherine; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
