ARLINGTON -- James Gambrell "Jim" Robbins died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at the age of 92.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 301 S. Center St., Arlington, Dr. Dennis Wiles officiating.
Jim was born Sept. 22, 1922, to William W. and Annie Lee Bull Robbins in Perrin. His family lived on a farm in Jacksboro County and he attended school there until he graduated in 1941. He graduated from Hardin Simmons University with a B.A. and from the University of Colorado with an M.A. and Ph.D. Jim also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Robbins; his sister, Annie Ruth Trittin; brothers, C. David and John E Robbins.
Survivors: His loving wife, Ernestine; his children, Ava Good and husband, Paul; James D. and Paul C Robbins; Judy Voth and husband, Ike; Sherry Greer and husband, David; Doug Miller and wife, Brenda; his sister-in-law, Mamie Robbins; and the mother of his children, Imogene Mares. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
