ARLINGTON -- James "Denver" Blackman, 89, passed away Thursday, April, 28, 2016, in Arlington.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday at New York Avenue Church of Christ, 5371 New York Ave., Arlington, Dr. Bill Keele officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Denver was born June 23, 1926, in Pine Valley, Okla. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and then spent his career with LTV, retiring after 25 years of service. Denver was a member of New York Avenue Church of Christ.
A special thanks to Green Oaks Nursing Home and Rehabilitation and Alpha and Omega Hospice for their compassion while they cared for Denver.
Denver was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ruth Blackman, in 2011.
Survivors: Sons, David Blackman (Jan), Mark Blackman (Linda), all of Arlington; daughters, Kathy Blackman of Arlington, Carol Scott (Mark) of Hubbard; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
