ALVARADO -- James Dee Michael, 78, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, in Arlington.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: 1 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane A. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
J.D. was born March 19, 1936, in Lumberton, Miss., to Jewel Lee Michael and Alberta Bass Michael. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force, serving from 1952-1962. J.D. retired from the Arlington Fire Department after 27 years of service. He was a member of Happy Hill Baptist Church and served as a deacon. J.D. enjoyed horticulture, woodworking and playing the banjo, fiddle and guitar.
Survivors: Wife, Carolyn Anne Michael; children, Christopher John Michael, Charity Anne Michael Lee and husband, Richard, Jason Lee Michael and wife, Janna, and Jonathan Allen Michael and wife, Heather; brother, Douglas F. Michael and wife, Alice; grandchildren, Tony, Nicholas, Brandi, Crista, Jesse, Kate, Leah and Abby; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
