James Thomas Stone

James took flight Saturday evening, May 9th on the wings of angels. He lived a full life serving God in many ways. At age 16, he was called into the ministry and received his first license soon afterward. By the age of 30, he had received his ordination. As he worked more and more in the ministry he realized that he needed a helpmate to work along side of him. He began to pray for the Lord to send him the person he needed. Through a series of unusual events he met and married the love of his life, Linda. Together they worked side by side, hand in hand, for 51 years. James and Linda had no biological children ; they had many that stayed in their home. If I started to name them I would surely leave someone out, so I am going to say “you know who you are” and know that he loved all 38 of you to the fullest. James was preceded in death by his parents, William Stone and Laura Mae Stailey Stone; brother, William Stone; and sisters, Rosa Lindsey, Margie Petty, Mary Jones and JoAnn Davis. Survivors: Wife of 51 years, Linda Walker Stone; son, David Lester; daughter, Tamela Mann and husband, David; special niece, Annetta Hazel; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
