Jim George, 76, of Kilgore, Texas passed away, Friday, December 18, 2015 at Arlington Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.
Jim was born September 16, 1939 in Kilgore, Texas to James and Juanita George. He graduated from Kilgore High School in 1958, attended Kilgore Junior College and graduated from the University of North Texas in 1962. In June 8, 1974, he married Teresa (Terri) Iliffe of Arlington, Virginia. Jim served as an advertisement specialist with the Dallas-based Army/Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) for 21 years and retired as a Supervisor of the Catalog Division. Jim was a car enthusiast and loved to travel with his family. From crisscrossing Europe to kayaking in Alaska, Jim and his family took every opportunity to explore God's creation. He was also heavily involved in church ministries and served selflessly as a Deacon at First Baptist Dallas up until his passing. Jim regularly taught Sunday school classes at First Baptist Dallas, +
while also serving on the Pastoral Prayer Team and as a member of the Stephen's Ministry.
Jim is survived by his two children, Nathan George and Sara George Grantham and his wife Terri; his son-in-law David Grantham of Tampa, FL; and two grandchildren, Jude Aiden Grantham and Aubren Grace Grantham.
