James "Robin" Rufus Hall

James Rufus “Robin” Hall, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 2, 2018. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 313 N. Center Street, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations in Robin's name can be made to the First United Methodist Church or to Mission Arlington. Robin was born August 14, 1953, in Norman, OK, to Rufus George Hall III and Nancy Joline Furnace Hall. Robin grew up in Norman, OK where his dad was a Professor at the University of Oklahoma. He went on to graduate from OU with degrees in both Law Enforcement and Physical Education as well as a Master's Degree in Education. He married the love of his life, Sharon Farabough, in 1983, at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman. They soon moved to Arlington and continued their teaching careers in Grand Prairie. Robin taught Middle School Science for 35 years, as well as coaching football and track for many of those years. He loved teaching and working daily with his students. Robin and Sharon had two sons, Brandon and Andrew. He enjoyed watching and helping his children pursue their interests as they grew up. Robin enjoyed rock climbing and passed that love to his boys as well. As an Eagle Scout himself, Robin organized and led Cub Scout Pack 592 and remained very active with their scouting as they moved up thru Boy Scouts. He greatly enjoyed every campout and summer camp with his sons and many others. Although Robin and Sharon traveled to other destinations, fall was spent in Norman, OK. Robin was an avid Sooner football fan, and he and Sharon enjoyed nearly every OU home football game during their 35 years of marriage. Boomer Sooner! Time spent with his family was most important to Robin. He was a loving and attentive husband and father who always put his family first and loved to surprise them. As an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Arlington, Robin's faith and service was important to him. He was always ready to help whenever he could at home, work or church. He is a man who truly followed the Scout Oath and Scout Law his entire life. He will be greatly missed. Robin was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Robin is survived by his wife, Sharon Hall of Arlington; sons, Brandon Hall and wife, Diana, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Andrew Hall of Fort Worth; sister, Nancy Hall of Austin; sister-in-law, Brenda Blohm and husband, Charles, of Orange, TX; nieces, Amy Hill of Portland, OR, Candace Ward and husband, Ross, of Richardson, Morgan Lamb and husband, Kenny, of Richardson, and Amy Bryce of Katy.
