James Robert “Rob” Bethune
June 10, 1957 – January 6, 2021
Rob was born in Covington, Kentucky to Jim and Joyce Bethune. The family relocated to Texas when he was 3 years old where he resided until his death. He leaves behind his wife Sherry J. Bethune of 25 years; five children: Brandy Looper, Sherry D. Bethune, Joshua Lindsay, Clayton Lindsay, and Chase Bethune; and four grandchildren: Damien, Riley, Aubri, and Ember.
Rob worked in the autobody industry his entire adult working career. He started out as a painter and through his tireless hard work and dedication was promoted from lead painter, to Production Manager, and eventually General Manager. He loved race cars and motorcycles. As a young man he raced dirt bikes for sport and fun. Rob often stated one of the biggest highlights of his life was getting to participate in the Richard Petty Driving Experience where he got to drive a racecar around the speedway in Fort Worth. Rob also loved taking summer vacations along the gulf coast with his family.
Above all, Rob loved his family without measure. He was an amazing husband, father, “PaPaw”, and great friend to so many. Our lives will forever be changed because of his eternal love.
Silent Tear
Author Unknown
Each night we shed a silent tear,
As we speak to you in prayer.
To let you know we love you,
And just how much we care.
Take our million teardrops,
Wrap them up in love,
Then ask the wind to carry them,
To you in heaven above.
