Jim Burrus was known for his ability to walk into a room and instantly become friends with anyone he met. He never met a stranger. He was a master at fishing, played a mean game of poker, held an amazing sense of humor, and most importantly, was an incredible dad.
One of the last things he said was that Jesus Christ was without a doubt his personal Lord and Savior and died on the cross for his sins. This was the best Treasure Jim shared with everyone he encountered.
Jim is survived by his wife, Barb Burrus, son Chris Burrus and wife Courtney, daughter Jessica Burrus and husband Daniel, stepdaughter Rachael Mireles and husband Richard, grandchildren, whom affectionately referred to Jim as “Paw Paw,” and other relatives and friends.
Per his request, his ashes will be spread over and around one of his favorite fishing spots here in the heart of Texas, where core memories were made with his family, kids, and grandkids.
Rest in peace, Jimbo. Your memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who shared life with you and countless moments of fun.
