James John Cuff

August 30, 1925 — December 26, 2017

PANTEGO –James John “Jim” Cuff, 92, of Pantego, quietly slipped away early in the morning of Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Arlington Memorial Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, the son and second oldest of seven children, to the late Charles and Edith Cuff, and later V. Claire Cuff. Jim was raised in the Dormont section of Pittsburgh. Jim served in the US Navy from August 1942 until August 1966. Following WWII in January 1946, he received orders to NAS Argentia, were he met and married his wife, Marge, in August 1946. After retiring from the Navy, he worked in the aviation industry with LTV for the next 22 years. He was a professional from head to toe, who never forgot to not always do his best but always look his best. He was Dad, Jim, JJ, Uncle Jim, PapPap, and friend to family, shipmates, and neighbor throughout his life. He was a devoted member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, and served his Lord God in many roles at St. Maria's. Jim was also a Knight of the Grand Cross (GCHS) in the Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Besides his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife of over 70+ years, Marge, a daughter, Barbara Anne, two brothers, Chuck and Bill, and two sisters, Violet and Joey. His family will always miss this special man. He is survived by two sisters, Pat, Jacksonville, FL and Mary Jane (Harry), Millsboro, DE; his children, Jimmy (Dana), Sanford, NC; daughters, Catherine (Derek), Irving, TX; and, Theresa (Randy), Springtown, TX; and sister-in-law, Janet, Fairhope, AL; his 4 grandchildren, Michelle, Kris, Mollie, and Dalton; and one great-grandchild, Olive; as well as, over 60 nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, great-great nephews and nieces. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A private family viewing will start at 5:00 PM. Visitation will be at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, TX. During the visitation, a rosary service will begin at 7:00 PM. The next morning, January 5th at 11:00 AM, a funeral mass will be conducted at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church (1200 South Davis Drive, Arlington, TX) with Father Michael Ciski, T.O.R. officiating. Burial will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens (1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX.) Following the burial, a reception will be held at St. Maria Goretti's Family Life Center (building is at the back of the parking lot behind church.)
