James Isaac Mays

RLINGTON -- James "Jamie" Isaac Mays, 44, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 20, 2014, in Arlington. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. James was born to Debra Jean and Carmon Bascom Mays on Sept. 24, 1969, in Arlington. He was a loving husband and devoted father. James loved spending time with his family and friends. He often talked of retiring from "the big city" and getting away from it all. He was a great man with much determination, who never feared when faced with life's challenges. He will be greatly missed by all. James was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Earl and Mary Bell; and paternal grandparents, T.B. and Edith Mays. Survivors: Wife, Shawn Mays; son, Tyler Mays; mother, Debra Auvenshine and his stepfather, Dwain; father, Carmon Mays; brother, Richard Mays and wife, Kathy; nephew, Ricky; sister, Jennifer Hallmeyer and husband, Cory; niece, September; stepsister, Alesha Vogel and husband, John Paul; nephews, Mason and Grady; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
