Jim was born on January 10, 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Dr. Francis Kennedy Horton and Elizabeth McIver Horton. He was raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi as the son of a Baptist preacher. It was in Arlington where Jim met his wife, Ann, and they were married in 1970. Together they share a son, David Horton. Jim retired from LTV in 1993. In his retirement, Jim certainly kept himself busy! He enjoyed working in his garden, taking care of both his home and his neighbors, and volunteering at Mission Arlington.
