James Darrell Dark

James Darrell Dark, born on July 24, 1942, in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, at the age of 82. He was the beloved son of Nathan Dark and Elva Miller Dark. Preceded in death by his cherished wife, Darnel Dark, James leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.

James attended Texas Eastern University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. He dedicated over 30 years of his life to a rewarding career as a Computer Programmer, working across multiple industries. In addition to his professional accomplishments, James enjoyed embracing the great outdoors, indulging in his passions for hunting, fishing, and cycling.

James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Darnel Dark; his parents, Nathan Dark and Elva Miller; brother, Clyde Dark; and his grandson, Clinton Young.

He is survived by his daughters, Amy Dark and Ruby Young, along with Ruby's husband, Chris Young. James was a proud grandfather to Taylor Clark, Steven Clark, Christopher Young, and Clinton Young, and a delighted great-grandfather to Xio Young and Eli Clark Snodgrass; and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate the life of James Darrell Dark. 

As we mourn his passing, we also find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind—a testament to a life filled with love, family, and a profound appreciation for nature.
