Jake Arland Cash

August 18, 1932 — August 27, 2016

ARLINGTON -- Though his Dad passed away when he was only two, Mr. Cash always said he had a wonderful life growing up in Arkansas with his mother and little sister, many cousins, lots of wonderful aunts and uncles, he adored eating out of the garden and riding his horse. As a cousin of Johnny Cash, Jake was a huge fan of his music and country music in general. He discovered his knack for entrepreneurship by the time he was 10 by renting out his fishing boat and selling worms. His work ethic continued throughout his years of owning and running businesses. He started his first company in Memphis, Tennessee in 1962 and eventually sold in 1977 to Ken Davis Industries and moved to Texas to run Fridgette Corporation in Fort Worth. Later he formed a joint venture with Clarion Corporation of Japan and operated Texas Oklahoma Auto Sound and worked with car dealers across the south. He also owned Service Marketing Unlimited in Fort Worth. With his engaging and outgoing personality, his generous spirit and his genuine love of people, he had many friends and colleagues. He loved to entertain and travel, was an avid golfer and a major Razorback supporter and fan. Mr. Cash met his wife of 54 years at a Sunday School party. Together they were very active in a number of churches leading youth groups, teaching Sunday School and serving on boards. They shared a deep faith in God and were an example to so many. Mr. Cash was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and considered his grandsons his pride and joy. His family is eternally grateful for the love he shared and the mark that he left.
