ARLINGTON-Jake Anthony Bradford Nelson, 21, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Arlington.
Funeral: 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to the Arlington Animal Shelter or Optimist Club of Arlington Football Program.
Jake was born on June 21, 1995 in Arlington to William Anthony Nelson and Leigh Ann Stinson Nelson. His Dad's military career took the family to live in New Jersey and Puerto Rico, before the family settled permanently in Arlington, Texas in 2000. Jake attended Arlington High School where he was a Colt football player. He loved to mentor younger players and would assist his Dad in coaching Optimist Club Apache Football. He started playing on the Apaches from First Grade under the guidance of “Coach D” Derek Williams, and continued through the program coached by his Dad.
Jake enjoyed football, fishing and collecting stray animals. His family and friends will always remember him as a loyal, loving, and carefree person.
