Jacqueline Sue Edwards

Jacqueline Sue (Dent) Edwards, age 83, of Wilder, KY., loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Jacqueline was born on March 24, 1940, in Hurricane, West Virginia, the daughter of Willis and Ida (Wyant) Dent.

Jacqueline was retired from the IRS. She loved reading, traveling, exploring historical sites and presidential libraries. She treasured her family and friends. Jacqueline enjoyed puzzles, whether it be Sudoku or Word Scrambles. She relished the Sunday paper looking forward to an afternoon of completing the Crossword Puzzles contained within. In her later years, she grew to love Bluebonnets, Pecan Pie and the warmer Texas weather.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Elgia Lee Edwards; her parents, Willis and Ida (Wyant) Dent; her in-laws, Elgia and Ruby Edwards; her brothers, Wilkie, Don and Freddie Dent; her sisters, Joann Meeks and Jetta Blake.

She is survived by her two children, Mark (Vikki) Edwards of Sunrise, FL., and Brian (Deborah) Edwards of Arlington, TX.; three grandsons: Timothy, Matthew and Daniel; and one great-granddaughter, Matison; her sister, Joyce Queen of Daytona, Fl., and many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be held in Texas at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society in honor of Jacqueline. Arrangements are entrusted to Wade Funeral Home.
