Jacqueline E. Reynolds

January 15, 1947 — November 14, 2023

Jacqueline Elizabeth Reynolds, “Jacquie,” was born on January 15, 1947 to Marilyn and Anthony Legan in Joliet, Illinois. She had two sisters, Cathy and Lynne. As a young woman, she enjoyed music and learned to play the accordion. She was married to Jim and had her oldest daughter, Wendi, and son, Jeff. She had grandchildren Chelsi, Jacob, Derek, and later Casey, Cole and Devon. She moved to Texas where she married Robert Reynolds on April 27, 1985 and had her youngest daughter, Megan. She had dear friends Bruce, Carol, Tim, Lisa, Pat, Dave, and others who raised their children together and enjoyed cards, dominos, and Halloween and birthday parties. She celebrated Christmas Eve when family would gather to open gifts and spend precious time together. Jacquie loved to bake and decorate cakes for her children and friends. She enjoyed gardening and had many well-loved rose bushes surrounding her home. Jacquie was a talented seamstress. She made clothing for herself and her children and crafted Raggedy Anne dolls for income when she was younger. Later in life, she became an avid quilter and gifted many quilts to friends and family, which are now cherished heirlooms. She was thrilled to pass this skill on to her daughters and granddaughter and took great pride and joy in their accomplishments.

Jacquie passed into Heaven following a short battle with lung cancer on November 14, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Robert Reynolds), son-in law (Ronnie Kubis), and brother-in-law (Dave Kunke). She is survived by her sisters (Cathy Kristich and Lynne Kunke), brother-in-law (Jim Kristich), children (Wendi Kubis, Jeff Cox, and Megan Brown), daughter-in-law (Kelley Cox), son-in-law (Luke Brown), grandchildren (Chelsi Ray, Jacob Cox, Derek Cox, Cole Kubis, Devon and Haley Kubis, and Casey Bayers), great granddaughter (Blakely Kubis), and nieces and nephews (Kelly and TR Fry, Kerri and John Guse, Chris and Jennifer Kristich, Ami Collofello, and Ashley Kunke).

Those who knew Jacquie will remember her laugh and attention to detail. She was conscientious, humble, and generous, always considering others before herself. Jacquie loved her family dearly and treasured them every day. She structured her life around the momentous occasions of her family, always noting a birthday, anniversary, or event with a phone call or gift. Jacquie’s loved ones grieve her passing, a life ending too soon and too suddenly. The impact of her years was more lasting and memorable than words can adequately describe. She will be remembered fondly as “Mom,” “Grandma,” and “Aunt Jacquie,” and passed peacefully after a beautiful life.
