ARLINGTON -- Jack R. Longgrear, a resident of Arlington since 1961, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday at Grace Street Fellowship, 1516 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Private interment in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Jack was born March 7, 1924 in Clarkton, MO to John P. and Christine Guillory Longgrear. He is a graduate of Clarkton, MO high school and earned degrees from University of Indiana and Murray State University, Kentucky.
He served in World War II as a radar technician in the Army Air Corps (now Air Force). He married his high school sweetheart, Imogene McCord in 1947.
Jack was a high school principal, college professor and a life insurance executive. After retiring from life insurance, he worked for the Baptist Standard Publishing Company as Director of Publication Promotion. He was on the Mission Arlington Board of Directors for 25 years. He was a deacon of South Street Church and taught adult bible study for many years.
Jack's first love was Jesus Christ and his second love was his family. His main purpose for living was to bring glory and honor to his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ and to provide for his family.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two older brothers.
Survivors: Son, John Longgrear and wife, Rhonda; son, Richard Longgrear and wife, Denise; daughter, Jean Ann Longgrear Stokes and husband, Rodney; grandchildren, James Longgrear, Amy Longgrear Stroup and husband, Brad, Emily Stokes and fiance, B.J., Landon Longgrear and wife, Stevie, John Stokes and wife, Peyton, and Mark Stokes and fiance, Lara; great-grandchildren, Jaci and Gabrielle Stroup, Baby Stokes and Baby Longgrear on the way.
