Jackie "Jack" Maurice Middleton

ARLINGTON -- Jackie "Jack" Maurice Middleton went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2014. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Fielder Church, 2011 S. Fielder Road, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Community Hospice of Texas or Disabled American Veterans. Jack was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Emory to Olen and Agnes Middleton. Jackie graduated from Tyler High School in 1954. He graduated from The University of Texas with an engineering degree in 1963 after serving several years in the U.S. Coast Guard. He married the love of his life and his wife of 50 years, Stella "Dee" Louise Sharp, of DeQueen, Ark., on Dec. 7, 1963. Jack worked in the aerospace defense industry as an aeronautical engineer 1963 to 1999 in Grand Prairie. He very much enjoyed his job, the atmosphere and playing cribbage at lunch with his co-workers. Jack and Stella loved to travel and spend time with family. Jack loved to play bridge, golf, 42 and launch play rockets and planes with his children and grandchildren. He always kept up with the latest technology and shared his knowledge and skills with his friends and family. Jack maintained a great attitude and sense of humor his entire life and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather and friend who left a favorable impression everywhere he went with his endearing sense of humor and witty remarks. He was preceded in death by his older sibling, Joe Bob Middleton. Survivors: His wife; three daughters, their husbands and six grandchildren, Stella Sharp Middleton, Sandra Dee Middleton, Michelle and Bill Wade, Jennifer and Jake Short, Caroline, Lilly, Morgan, Gracie, Cooper and Layla; a large extended family; and many friends.
