Jack Luther Little, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on February 3, 1934, in Jonesborough, Tennessee, Jack was known for his warm heart, sense of humor, and tireless work ethic—qualities he passed on to his loved ones.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Jack served from December 11, 1954, to September 12, 1956, achieving the rank of Private First Class. He carried the values of dedication and resilience throughout his life.

After retiring, Jack enjoyed a well-earned break from a diverse career that included unforgettable moments, such as his time working at Yellowstone National Park. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his joy in spending time with family, particularly during holidays and get-togethers filled with laughter, delicious food, and cherished stories. Jack was an enthusiastic fan of the Texas Rangers baseball team and loved to relax at the lake, coffee in hand, with a York Peppermint Pattie by his side. He also had a deep appreciation for western films and the works of Louis L’Amour, which brought him endless enjoyment.

Jack is survived by his children: son Jeff Little, daughter Jacque Walker, and son James Little (Kim). He was a proud grandfather to Kristi Walker, Tim Little (Brittany), Clint Hansen, Aaron Little (Katie), and Shelton Little, and a beloved great-grandfather to Ella Little, Michael Little, and Makenzie Little.

A graveside service to honor Jack’s life will take place at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on February 4, 2025. Prior to the service, family and friends are invited to a visitation at Wade Family Funeral Home in Belle Hall on February 2, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Jack will receive the military honors he so richly deserves at the cemetery.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Treadway and Roy Little, and his wife, Juanita Little, and siblings Howard Little, Margaret Arney (Duke), Austin Little (Beatrice), Ruth Greene (William “Pickle”), Kathryn Greene (Jack), Geraldine Lowe (J.L.), Shirley Cox (Aldon).

As we remember Jack, let’s celebrate the legacy of love, humor, and hard work that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
