Jack Leonard Paup

November 9, 1934 — July 28, 2024

Jack Leonard Paup, 89, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on July 28, 2024, and was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born on November 9, 1934, in Enid, Oklahoma, Jack made Arlington his home in 1962, where he raised his family and became an integral part of the community.

Jack is survived by his loving children: son Mike Paup and daughter Jerri Kelley. He leaves behind a cherished family, including his granddaughter Felisha Riner and great-grandchildren Brianna Villa, Victor Villa, and Arabella Riner through his son Mike. From his daughter Jerri Kelley, he is survived by his grandchildren Jessie Phair and Josh Cutler, and great-grandchildren Jack and Amelia Cutler. Jack is also remembered by his sole niece, Marcy Paup of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Jack dedicated four years of service to his country in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he married his late wife, Bette Louise Hubbard, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage. Jack had a deep passion for meteorology and flying, excelling in both fields throughout his life. He retired after 37 years of committed service as the Meteorologist in Charge at Air Route Traffic Control for DFW Airport. Additionally, Jack worked part-time for 15 years as a charter pilot for Coker Airfreight.

An avid fisherman and camper, Jack cherished spending time with his family. Despite his many accolades and accomplishments, it was his heartfelt plea to Jesus, made just five days before his passing on July 23, 2024, that truly exemplified his journey of faith. Much like the thief on the cross, Jack’s final moments were a testament to his deep spiritual connection.

His family, while profoundly grieving his loss, is immensely proud of the man he was and the person he became. Jack’s legacy of love, dedication, and faith will remain a guiding light for all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Jack Leonard Paup. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
