Jack Delano Jones

April 6, 1934 — December 7, 2022

Jack Delano Jones, 88, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 in Mansfield, Texas.

Jack was born on April 6, 1934 in Gatesville, Texas to John Baptist Jones and Stella Pruitt Jones. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1954 and was a veteran of the Korean War. Jack married Bobbie Sue Roberts on April 3, 1959 until her death on August 17, 2009. He then married Jo Calloway on February 14, 2012.

Jack worked for 50 years as an Offset Pressman, finishing his career at Color Dynamics at the age of 70. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing and riding around the lake on his golf cart meeting people along the way. He made many friends over the years, but his longest friendship was with Carlos Garza, and lasted over 40 years, until his death. He was a hard working man, rarely missed work (Only once can we remember, after he was bitten by a brown recluse spider and left him unable to get out of bed for a few days), and never complained, even during those 2 months straight (in his late 60’s) that he worked 12 hour days, without one day off during that time, driving a 3 hours round trip every day. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Sue Jones; sister, Iva Jo Grimmett; parents, John Baptist Jones and Stella Pruitt Jones; and great-granddaughter, Bailey Rey Watson.

Survivors: Sons, Barry Jones and wife, Wendy Jones, Scott Jones and partner, Reuben Jacobs; daughter, Sandy Inman; grandchildren, Shawna Inman Pricer, Ashley Ann Jones and Brandon Dale Jones; great-granddaughter, Caroline Renae Pricer; brothers, John Orris Jones and wife, Betty June Jones and Don Jones; sisters, Betty Jean Young, Julia Lee and Nancy Thomas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
