Jack Anthony Carter

November 20, 1974 — July 13, 2023

Jack was born November 20, 1974 to his loving parents, Helen Hall Burnell and Jimmy Ira Carter.

Jack was known to his friends and family for having a boisterous personality, a smile that would light a room, and a bellowing laugh. Beneath the exterior, he was a kind and compassionate man with a deep seated sense of spirituality. He spent his last years studying & writing about his love of the Lord and the love of God for mankind. He was rooted in the word as a child but it seems likely He may have begun down that road through the incessant prayers and unconditional love of his beautiful Grandmother, known affectionately as Gamma, (Elizabeth Brownrigg) a woman of great faith, whose thoughts and prayers were constantly with him.

The proudest day of Jack’s life was June 23, 2004 with the birth of his son, Jack Henry Carter, to Laura Carter, now his wife of 19 years. As a father, Jack was a great giver of hugs, a listener and giver of advice that always seemed to begin “Well, son…” As a husband Jack was capable of loving unconditionally, was a care giver & supporter, and never said unkind words.

Jack was kind, jovial, gentle, loving, and deeply human. He is survived by a family that mourn him, his wife, Laura Anderson Carter; his grandmothers, Elizabeth Brownrigg & Ruthanna Hall; his father, Jimmy Ira Carter; his mother, Helen Burnell & husband Todd; his sister, Kelly Leigh James & husband Jesse; his brother Jimmy Cash Carter; and his nephews and nieces, Paul & Lily Carter and Declan & Jensen James; as well many aunts, uncles & cousins.

It is a great comfort to this family that Jack is with his Heavenly Father and that one day they will be in each others embrace again. He will be profoundly missed until that day. In Jack’s own words, “ God is the light in which I see, the wind with which I think, the love in which I forgive & the strength in with I trust. Love triumphs everything. I am my fellow man. The same Holy Spirit might inhabit almost anyone I meet. Don’t judge, have love and compassion, love thy neighbor as myself. Mind and soul are outside of time and not effected by the body. They are eternal. I am not bound by the physical world. Let fear and death have no power over you because nothing can kill that which is eternal. Give God your best and let outcomes be his responsibility.”

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

Isaiah 43: 1-3
Do not fear for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name and you are mine. When you pass through the waters I will be with you, when you walk through the fire you will not be scorched, nor will any flame burn you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy one of Israel, your Savior.
