Vern Caperton Myers, 91 years of age. A retired teacher and librarian went to be with her Heavenly Father, Thursday, December 19th, 2024, at Hurst Plaza Nursing Home, in Hurst, Texas.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Cross Church in North Richland Hill Texas early in 2025. She was born in Grand Saline, in East Texas. Vern graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1949, and East Texas State University in 1957,now called Texas A & M. Vern was a librarian for Garland Texas schools, Lubbock High School, Petersburg Texas Schools, and Trinity High School, Euless Texas, and an elementary librarian for the Birdville schools when she retired in 1992.
She served several Churches as pianist and organist with her husband and loved listening to and playing religious and classical music. The Myers Family have been members of Cross Church since 1968.
Vern was an avid reader of American literature and Christian fiction, mysteries and biography. She loved watching and feeding wildlife, and various kinds of bird, especially hummingbirds. Vern loved the New Mexico mountains and going to the family cabin near Cloudcroft and Ruidoso, New Mexico.
She met the love of her life, Marvin at Main Street Babtist church in Grand Saline Texas, where he was leading the music, and she was the organist. They were married in harmony for 68 wonderful years.
She is survived by her husband, F. Marvin Myers, son David Myers, and daughter in law Joselyn Myers. Also, Jesseca and Gerren Alexander, with their children, Olivia, Mia, and Sebastian. Niece, Sharon and Tom Vardeman, daughters Juli Tauzin and Jennifer Bred Love, and Kim Bustillos, children Miranda and Nicki.
Vern is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Cordia Caperton of Grand Saline, in East Texas, and her sister June and Pete Crocker of Holly Lake Ranch, Hawkins Texas.
