Irene Mc Coy Smith, 81, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11:30am Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Crossroads Christian Church, 6350 S. State Highway 360, Grand Prairie, with Pastor Jerry Jenkins officiating. Interment: 1:15pm in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30am at the church prior to services. In lieu of flowers, consideration of contribution to Universal Hospice Services of Fort Worth, Tx is appreciated. Irene was born on June 19, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Herman Sr. and Perviller McCoy. She was devoted wife and mother to 7 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. For many years she worked at Lafon Nursing home in New Orleans as a nurse's aide before spending her last years prior to retiring working at Loyola University Child care center in New Orleans. Having spent most of her life in New Orleans, she resided in Arlington since 2007. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Enoch Sr.; Sisters: Helen, Theda, Thelma, Marlene, Clarice; Brothers: Norwood, Alden, Herman and Alfred; and Granddaughter, Simone Doublet. Survivors include Daughters: Ava Smith, Stephanie Cordier, LaTerria Stein (Alan), Chantel Adames (Kenny), and Bertie Doublet (Sean); Sons: Enoch Smith, Jr. and Andre Smith (Consuela); Grandchildren: Jolene Bouchon Christian (Bryan), Demian Bouchon, Blaise Cordier, Greer Lang-Smith, Javier Adames, Alex Adames, Evan Stein, Lindsey Doublet and Lauryn Doublet; Great grand-children: Chance Bouchon, Joaquin Christian; Sister: Geraldine Gowan of San Francisco, CA and a host of nieces and nephews.
