Arlington, Texas - On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, Homer Michael Sargent entered into internal rest with his Heavenly Father.
Funeral: 1p.m. Saturday, October 10, at Crossroads Christian Church, 6450 TX-360, Grand Prairie. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 9, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Homer was born June 9, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Mr. Billy Gene Sargent, and Billie Jean Sargent. Homer graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1975. He attended West Texas State University and was an exceptional football athlete. He received his History degree from UT of Arlington, TX along with various other degrees. He began his professional career at ARA. He later became CEO/owner at Diamond S Imprinters and Better Cast Stone. He was recently employed for 8 years with General Motors. Homer along with his best friend (Michael Oakley) was a published Author of a book named “Real Love, Deep in The Heart of Texas”. Homer was an exceptional writer who enjoyed sharing his life through his writings about how he fought for love and his family. Homer took pride in all his children and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and was a legend to many. Homer will be missed by many but his memories and legacy will live with us for a lifetime. He professed his faith in Christ at Mount Olive Baptist Church where he was a Faithful member throughout the many years under the leadership of the late Rev. N.L. Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his life and memories: the Mother, Cassandra Sargent of his four wonderful children, Larissa A. Sargent, Equilian M. Sargent, Quentin M. Sargent, Taylor A. Sargent of Arlington, Texas; his grandchildren, Donald Jr., Malik, Donoven, Caeden, Donerio, Jayson, Skylla, Mason, Quentin Jr, Amir; his Brother David Sargent (Susie), his Sister Jeania Boogren (Pete); a host of other relatives and dear friends.
