Homer Leon Dudley Jr.

Homer “Leon” Dudley, Jr., 61, passed away on May 20, 2024, at home, surrounded by his family and friends. Leon was born on February 10, 1963, to Homer and Pat Dudley.

Leon was a man whose passion for life knew no bounds. A devoted father, skilled fisherman, and drag racer, he lived each day with unwavering determination and boundless love for his family and friends. Leon was a master plumber and owner of Charlie’s Plumbing Services, passing his trade to his brother, sons, and some friends.

Leon was more than just a father: he was a source of strength and a constant source of inspiration to all who knew him. He loved the outdoors and the thrill of the racetrack brought joy to his life and those around him. As “Papa,” he showered his grandchildren with love and endless stories of his adventures. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Kay, both of his parents, sisters Carla and Betty, brothers Micheal and Howard, and grandson Mikey.

He is survived by his wife, Sherilena Dudley; sons Josh (and Aubrey) Dudley, Garret (and Brittanie) Showman, and Bryen (and Bry) Dudley; daughters Tonia (and Dave) Gary, Stephanie (and Mike) Hartman, Michala Shelton (and Kyler); beloved brothers Tommy (and Misty) Dudley and David Allen (and Elizabeth) Davis; in-laws John and Gerry Wonderlin and beloved uncle and aunt Dave and Maria Henry. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren – Chris Hall, Grace and Sam Gary, Kaleigh and Mikey Hartman, Damian, Iris, Esamae, Maple, Maisy Dudley, Emery Showman, Aubreigh Mae and Braedon Dudley as well as many nieces and nephews.

May Leon’s legacy of passion, courage, and love continue to inspire us all as we cherish the memories, we shared with him. Rest in peace, dear Leon, knowing that your spirit will forever guide us through life’s journey.
