Helen (Grandma) Marie Douglas Hallford
8/31/1925-1/30/2017
Helen was born August 31st 1925, the youngest of eight children, to Leander and Ida May Douglas.
She was born to a simple life in Tulsa, Oklahoma where her father provided for the family as a house painter and paperhanger. As a young girl in the midst of the great depression she enjoyed most playing outside on the family farm with her brothers and sisters. But Helen's true purpose began October 16, 1944 when she married the love of her life, James C. Hallford. Helen wrapped her arms around James as he left to defend our country in World War II and again in death as he left to return to the lord our Father.
James' death caused a door to shut in Helen's life where she would never be the same again. Despite this pain she worked three jobs while raising and protecting her children. Through the remainder of her life she felt immense joy from her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family. Her life was lived with the purpose of elevating those around her through sacrifice, selflessness and as an example of pure love.
