Helen Elizabeth Linehan DeVito passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 13, 2022. She was 89 years old. Helen was the mother of six daughters but many of the DeVito girls’ friends considered her their mother as well. She always ensured that every child that came into their home felt safe, happy and loved.
Born on February 19, 1933 in Mechanicville, New York, Helen attended Mechanicville High School and SUNY Plattsburgh, New York where she earned her teaching degree. In 1954 she married the love of her life, Dominick ‘Mickey’ DeVito. Together they had six daughters and raised them in Arlington, Texas.
Helen was an exceptional wife and mother. Even with her large family, Helen was active in many organizations including The Women’s Guild of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, The Ladies Auxiliary of Arlington Memorial Hospital and Casa di’ Italia Italian Club. Helen loved her family with all her heart. She and Mickey loved to travel and visited many countries together with their friends over the years.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, Denis and Irene Linehan, brother Robert Linehan, sister Mary Jane Linehan, granddaughter Lauren Lovas and her precious youngest daughter Amy DeVito Keyser. Survivors include her husband Mickey, daughters Helen Rexroat, Julie Madden, Tina Fett, Barbara McTee and Kathleen Earle. Helen is also survived by grandchildren Matt Cheatham, Sara Buckler, Katie Litteken, CJ Lovas, Reci Smith, McKellie Rexroat, Emily Whall, Molly Earle, Mary Smith, Blake McTee, Clifford McTee IV and Taylor Parsons. There are 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews that will miss her as well.
She will be dearly missed because she was greatly loved.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 15,with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Mass of Christian Burial: 1 p.m. Friday, December 16, at. St, Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Dr., Arlington. Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, at Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington.
