Helen Davis Meehan

Helen Davis Meehan, 92, peacefully passed away November 10, 2018. Family and friends whom Helen touched in her life are invited to a Mass at 11AM, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Dr., Arlington, Texas 76013. A reception will follow in the St. Maria Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mary Meehan Scholarship Fund, Mercyhurst College, Erie, PA. Helen was born on January 7, 1926 in Oil City, PA. She was so good at her first job as a high school newspaper reporter that she became know as “Scoop Davis”. Helen met her husband, Bill, while working in Erie, PA. , marrying on December 2, 1950 and began the next page of her life as a mother, homemaker and eventually the bookmobile librarian for the Bloomfield NJ Public Library. Helen lived in communities from the east to west coast but loved her Arlington “Turtlerock” home where she lived and worked since 1991. Helen was preceded in death by her husband William and daughter Mary. Survivors: Sons, William Meehan and wife Colleen, of Arlington, and Timothy Meehan and wife, Beth, of Plano; grandchildren Caitlyn, Connor, Meghan and Katherine: great grandchildren Tommy, Daniel, Mary Beth, Marshall and Dottie.
