Helen Ann Thut, 90, passed away peacefully in her home in Fort Worth, TX, on February 2, 2021 after leading an incredibly fulfilled life. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend, and she lived a life of faith that was inspiring to all that knew her.
Helen was born on July 28, 1930 in Plainview, TX to Roger Mills & Ruth Elizabeth Ayers. While studying pre-med at Texas Tech University, she met the love of her life, Dale Thut. They were married Nov. 22, 1950 and happily lived 50 years together before his passing in 2000.
Helen's love for travel took her on adventures across the globe with her family, and she checked off all the items on her bucket list – some she checked off more than once! She was a master chef, had a passion for chocolate and believed that a balanced diet was “a cookie in each hand.” She was a member at North Davis Church of Christ, a part of the church's Ladies Bridge Club and spent her spare time crafting, knitting, baking, fly fishing and studying genealogy.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Cathy; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kim; and granddaughters Chelsea and Linsey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to safety concerns, a private graveside ceremony will be held with family. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hearts & Hands Ministry at North Davis Church of Christ and Mission Printing, Inc. in Arlington.
