Hattie Allen, at age 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 21, 2021, at Medical City Hospital in Arlington, Texas.
Hattie was born in Winchester, Arkansas July 3, 1926. She was one of 6 children born to the late Winfield and Delia Jackson and was the beloved wife of Johnny Allen for 57 years. Hattie grew up in a large loving family consisting of 5 siblings (Sylvester Jackson, Jasper Jackson, Bernice Thomas, Ruby Burton, and Margie Allen), who all proceeded her in death.
Hattie and Johnny married June 9, 1946, and became parents to 6 children: Ruth Crosby, (Jim) Arlington, TX; Aaron Allen, (Mamie) Grand Blanc, MI; Alonzo Allen, (Diane) Tillar, AR; Minnie Poole, Arlington, TX; Mary Ann Johnson, (Chris) Arlington, TX. Hattie was preceded in death by her daughter Jeanette Madden, (William/or Sony) Dumas, AR, December 20, 2011.
14 grand-children; Sean Crosby, (Andrea) Lewisville, TX; Terrence Allen, (Mia) Richardson, TX; Kevin Allen, (Alma) Denton, TX; Chris Allen, Monticello, AR; Alex Allen (Andrea), Little Rock, AR; Angie Allen, Conway, AR; Marlon Allen and Nikki Poole, Arlington, TX; Michael Allen, (Angela), Alexander, AR; Temetris Madden (Keon) Chaffin; Jeanisha Madden of Dumas, AR; Gloria (Tootie) Madden, Conway, AR; Brian Johnson, Ft. worth, TX; Brianna Johnson, Arlington, TX. And a host of great grandchildren.
Hattie was Madea to all who knew and met her. She loved her grandchildren/great grandchildren. And had every young one she met running to her to have her give them a big hug and “squeezed the guts out”.
Hattie was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1971. Although she loved to fish and travel with her sisters, she was happiest when teaching others about Jehovah and telling them about the wonderful prospect of endless life on paradise earth to come. She was a faithful preacher of the Good News of Gods Kingdom in the Dumas, Arkansas congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years. After failing health she later moved to Arlington, Texas with her daughters and was a beloved member of the Arlington English South Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Madea will be dearly missed. She touched the lives of many with her beautiful and generous smile and maintained her love and dedication for Jehovah all the way to the end.
