Harry was born October 15, 1938 in El Paso, Texas to Fred G. Hansard and Mary Clifton Hansard. After high school he joined the Marine Corps Reserves while attending Texas Tech University. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1961. Harry retired from R.R. Donnelly & Sons after 37 years as a very successful salesman.
Harry was very active in the Boy Scouts rising to the position of Scout Master which he held for several years. His favorite scouting activity was the campouts and sitting around the fire with the boys. He guided 22 boys in earning the Eagle Scout award. He was also an avid fisherman and turkey hunter.
Harry loved to tell stories and jokes. He knew a million jokes but just in case he had them written down and with him at all times. He and his fellow salesmen at Donnelly's numbered their jokes so all that was needed for a laugh was a number. He also enjoyed playing Santa at Christmas parties. He had a generous heart and a quick smile.
Survivors: Wife of 47 years, Janet Marie Davis Hansard; sons, Eric and Michael; sister, Becky and husband, James; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
