BURLESON -- Gwendolyn B. Stockemer, 81, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 in Crowley.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Gwendolyn was born November 6, 1933 in Canton to Buck Charles and Hettie Barber Beard. Gwendolyn attended Hardin Simmons University, Baylor University and received her Master's Degree from the University of Arkansas. She taught school for 46 years.
Gwendolyn was a faithful and honorable companion to her husband of 58 years, Paul, as he served the Lord Jesus Christ through his pastoral ministry at 6 different churches. She was a member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, and was a Burleson resident for the past 30 years.
Gwendolyn enjoyed traveling; she visited Scotland and the Bible Land on Mission trips and spent 4 summers in China teaching conversational English. She was an active member of TSTRA.
Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her sisters, Dovie Burlison, Myrtis Mepeak and Bertha Taylor.
Survivors: Husband, Dr. Paul G. Stockemer; sons, Ralph Stockemer and wife, Jessica and Stephen Stockemer and wife, Jennifer; sisters, Norma Sutton and Gayla Robertson; and grandchildren, Nathan, Taylor, Jada, and Hunter.
