Guadalupe Edward Urquidez, 74, passed away on September 30, 2017 in Dallas.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2100 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Interment: 1:30 p.m. Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane 2. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Edward was born on February 8, 1943 in Alpine, Texas to Guadalupe Urquidez and Faye Moreno Urquidez. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Barbara Ruth Puentez on June 1,, 1968 in Big Lake, Texas. He resided for 30 years in Baton Rouge, LA and worked as a terminal operator for Exxon Pipeline Company. A resident of San Angelo since 2001, he was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral. He has resided in Arlington the past 2 years due to his illness.
Edward loved hunting, shooting, watching movies, and was an avid Texas Rangers baseball fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Herlinda Urquidez.
Survivors: Wife of 49 years, Barbara Ruth Puentez Urquidez; daughter, Stephanie Urquidez of Austin; son, Douglas Ryan Urquidez and wife, Andrea of Arlington; brothers, Frank Urquidez and wife, Mary, Joe Urquidez and wife, Dee, and Dennis Urquidez; sister, Rosemary Cemental and husband, Jimmy; sister-in-law, Margaret Barrera and husband, Rogelio; several nieces and nephews; and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
