Grace Ubernosky Holsomback was welcomed into Heaven the afternoon of August 21, 2020.
Grace was born in Bryan, Texas on May 11, 1933. She grew up with brothers on the outskirts of Bryan/College Station near Welborn, Texas. Later she moved to Galena Park, Texas in the Houston area.
She married Joseph C. Holsomback, Jr. September 1, 1962. They lived in California for several years. They had their first child (Debbie) there. Then, they moved back to Texas and had two more children (Linda and David). They lived here for 15 years.
In 1980, the family moved up to Arlington, Texas and established their home there for 40 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, and 3 of her brothers.
There are many family and friends who will miss her. Some of these include her brother: Joe (Mary) Ubernosky, her 3 children: Debbie (Randy) Murray, Linda (Jay) Boyd, and David Holsomback; and her 3 grandchildren: Hannah Murray, Corban Murray and Katy Boyd. There are also many nieces, nephews, and family members on both sides of the family that will miss her as well as friends from the community and her church, First Baptist Church in Arlington.
Grace went by many names: Sister, Aunt Grace, Nana Grace, and Mimi to name a few. She
generously poured out her heart to bless and serve everyone she met.
She was good at just about everything she did. She was a devoted Christian, loyal sister, avid bird watcher, trustworthy friend, amazing gardener, supportive wife, and selfless stay at home mom. She loved her grandkids and “adopted” grandkids (those that came around before her own children had kids). Some may know that she was competitive in Mexican train dominos; she was great at designing clothes (she would look at an outfit and make it!); she was an entrepreneur before anyone had ever coined that term (she owned her own hair salon before she was married) and she was a humble servant. She gave her time and talents to helping others at church and various projects at Mission Arlington.
All who knew Grace would say her name “grace” definitely described her personality. She was gracious and loving towards everyone. She generously blessed others with God's love and kindness. She poured out her heart to others and loved them deeply.
Visitation will be at Wade Funeral Home on Friday September 4, 2020 from 6-8 pm.
The service will be Saturday September 5, 2020 at 2pm in the Wade funeral home chapel.
There will be live streaming of the service for those that are unable to attend.
Grace would be honored for donations to be generously given to Mission Arlington or to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering of the International Mission Board.
