Gordon Avery Launders

Gordon A. Launders, 88, passed away June 22, 2017 in Arlington. Funeral: 12 Noon Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Arlington Community Church, 1715 W. Randol Mill Road, Arlington with Pastor Mark Carr officiating. Interment: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Mr. Launders was born in Poynette, Wisconsin and was a graduate of Oakfield High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Engineering. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy. On November 9, 1957 he married the former Cora Walden in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Launders was retired from LTV, where he worked as an engineer. He was formerly president of the Arlington Gem and Mineral Club. Mr. Launders was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
