ARLINGTON -- Gordan C. Gibson, 81, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in Arlington.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at North Davis Church of Christ, 1601 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Interment: 9:15 a.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Gordan was born in Cameron on May 27, 1932. He attended Cameron Yoe High School and Texas A&M University. Gordan served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War on the USS Antietam. He married Janette Haelbig on Aug. 19, 1955. Gordan began a career in industrial engineering and migrated to machine-tool sales. He moved the family from Houston to Arlington in 1968. Gordan's career continued into commercial real estate where he remained until retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family and following the local sports teams.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Gordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and O.V. Gibson; a brother, James Gibson; and a sister, JoAnn Laurence.
Survivors: Wife of 58 years, Janie Gibson; daughter, Melissa Saniuk and husband, Steve; sons, Scott Gibson and wife, Paula, Jon Gibson and wife, Marla, and Mike Gibson and wife, Wendy; grandchildren, Madison, Ashley, Georgia, Tyler, Carson, Parker, Derek, Kolton and Cade; sister, Gloria White; and numerous nieces and nephews.
