ARLINGTON -- Glynn Gerard Dietrich, 66, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in Arlington. Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington, with the Rev. Thomas Craig and Deacon Charles, celebrants. Interment: 1:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane B. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with a vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maryknoll Missions, Catholic Relief Services or Mission Oblates. Glynn was born Oct. 18, 1946, in Baton Rouge, La., to Stewart Dietrich and Janet Bourgeoise Dietrich. He graduated from Istrouma High School in 1964. Glynn earned both his BS in microbiology and MS in food science and techology at LSU. He also graduated from Fort Belvoir Officer Candidate School. Glynn worked for Continental Can Co. in Baltimore, Md., and Miller Brewing Co. in Fort Worth where he was quality control manager, brewing manager and distribution manager. He owned Martin and Co. Hairdressers from 1992-1999. He was an avid sports fan, especially LSU football and all sports played by his beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, trading and following the stockmarket, cooking and spending time with his family. He belonged to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where he was an usher for 34 years. Glynn was a man of deep faith in God. He was a kind, generous and loving husband, father, son, brother and PaPa, and will be greatly missed. Survivors: His beloved wife of 44 years, Marilyn; daughter, Alyson Pawlik and husband, Edward; son, David Dietrich and wife, Shannon; mother, Janet Dietrich; brothers, Guy, Dale, Daryl, Patrick and Timmy; sisters, Marilyn and Diane; grandchildren, Kyle, Alex and Kathryn Dietrich and Zachary, Abigail and Madalyn Pawlik; and many nieces and nephews.
