Gloria Jean Whetstone

Gloria Jean Whetstone, 90, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Dallas. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Gloria was born April 3, 1927 in Marshall, Texas to Frank Howard Weidman and Lora Wycoff Weidman. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Arlington and volunteered at Arlington Memorial Hospital for 36 years. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Milton Whetstone in 2014; her son, Scott Whetstone in 1986; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors: Daughters, Vickie Thornton and husband, Bobby and Jan Hoskison and husband, Harold; sisters, Rachel Wall and Betty Lutz; grandchildren, Sonya White and wife, Pam, Christie Jennings and husband, Josh, Kyle Hoskison and wife, Dannica and Joey Hoskison and wife, Julie; and great-grandchildren, Michael and Heath Helgeson and Cash and Waylon Hoskison.
