Gloria Jean Kennedy Anderson, 72, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.
Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, at Mayfield Road Baptist Church, Arlington.
Gloria was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on November 30, 1944.
Gloria wore many “hats,” literally and figuratively: wife, mother, grandma, big sister, aunt, cousin, best friend, mentor, surrogate mom to 103 children, queen of the copy room, volunteer, PTA Honorary Life Membership Award recipient, organist, chauffeur, and the grandkids' #1 cheerleader. She was the baker/chef, fixer of anything, and snack provider to all. She kept the umpires in check (heckler), was always in charge, and forever will be the Lordy Lady.
She was tough as nails, but had a heart of gold.
Well, for Pete's sake mom…we miss you!!
Survivors: She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Glenn Anderson; children, Keith Anderson (Maria), Jeanine Anderson Rude (Rusty), Crystal Anderson; grandchildren, Zachary, Krista, Jenna, Matthew, Nicholas, Nina Nicole; and little grandpup, Zoe; brother, Jim Kennedy; sisters, Nancy Curnell, Jackie Carpenter, and Amy Flenniken; along with numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and brothers-in-law. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
