ARLINGTON-Glenn Ray White, 81, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in Arlington. Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Epworth United Methodist Church, 1400 S Cooper St, Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church or Advocates for Special People. Pallbearers: Mark Fishback, son; Shaun Fernandez, grandson; Aaron Craig, grandson; Brandon Craig, grandson; Travis White, Jr., nephew; Jerry White, nephew. Glenn was born on April 25, 1935 in Tahoka, Texas to Wallace White and Zora Aphrodite Halmart White. He grew up in Ropesville, Texas and served in the U.S. Navy. Glenn married Dorothy Hayslip, who was his best friend in elementary school. They spent a lot of time playing together as children. They reconnected at a high school reunion. Glenn retired as a mechanic with Southwest Airlines. He loved his farm and worked as a cotton farmer. He loved Alaska and enjoyed salmon fishing there. He was a handyman who could fix anything. Glenn also had a passion for flying. Glenn loved his cat, Buttons, who always jumped in his lap when Glenn sat down in is favorite leather chair. One of the first things Glenn would ask during his hospital stays was "Is Buttons missing me". He never missed Sunday School. Glenn loved Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior and his church. His favorite pastor was Sheila Fiorella. He dearly loved his family and grandchildren. The family would like to acknowledge Jana Collins, who was a long time family friend and hospice nurse. She and All Star Hospice were of great assistance in their time of need. Glenn is preceded in death by his son, Terry Fishback; son-in-law, Walter Craig; brothers, Travis White and Petty Jay White. Survivors: Wife, Dorothy White; sons, Mark Fishback and Jeff Fishback; daughter, Rhonda Craig; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Fishback; sister-in-law, Shirley White; sister, Sybil Voight; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
