Glenda Kay Myers

June 5, 1946 — April 15, 2015

Arlington -- Glenda Kay Myers, 68, because of God's free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, went to be with our precious Lord on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, in Arlington. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lamar Baptist Church, 1000 W. Lamar Blvd., Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Memorials: Donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in honor of Jordan Hill. Kay was born on June 5, 1946, in Marshall to Meldon Jack Hill and Oma Jean Carrington Hill. Kay was a beloved wife, mother and friend. She was married to her lifelong sweetheart, Robert Myers, for almost 50 years. They had a loving daughter, Mindy Kay, and a son, Nathan Keith, who is everything. For years, she was the owner of a bridal catering company called "A Wedding Wonderland." She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and sang in the church choir. She battled some medical issues such as a stroke in 1989 and, more recently, colon cancer, but that never kept her from doing what she loved and wanted to do like shopping and going to Canton. She had the soul of a servant, the voice of an angel, and the heart of a hero. She was beautiful, funny, incredibly talented and could light up a room with her ever-present smile. She was an inspiration to her friends and family through her strength of character and faithfulness to Christ. She will be missed, but will live on through the thousands of people whose lives she touched. Survivors: Mother, Jean Hill; husband, Robert; daughter, Mindy Kay; son, Nathan; brother, Dan Hill and wife, Robin; sister, Jackie Kasten and husband, Kirby; stepbrother, Terry Reynolds and wife, Debbie; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.
