Glen was born December 3, 1962 in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was a dear son, brother, uncle, father, bandmate, mentor, and friend. His love was unconditional and we loved him dearly. Glen attended Arlington High School, boxed with Golden Gloves, and was a former Marine. He worked for Kelly Springfield Tires in Tyler before joining Union Pacific Railroad as a Signalman, where he spent the better part of his career. Glen loved the railroad, but music was his life. He was first and foremost a singer songwriter musician. Born into a musical family, Glen embraced music at an early age and was inspired by the music of The Beatles, Aerosmith, Queen, Ozzy, and Pink Floyd. Having shared the stage with Frenzamyne, Ask Junior, and countless other performers, Glen established himself as one of the premier rock solid musicians in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In the pinnacle of his music career, Glen lent his talents as an original member with the rising Derek Lee Band, which performed at the American Airlines Center, and opened for Roger Creager. Glen and fellow bandmate and drummer JD Grier collaborated with nephew Hunter Paradise in the studio; their musical efforts received radio play over the Texas airways at the same time the Derek Lee Band was receiving radio play in several states. Glen's love and passion for music brought him indescribable joy and carried him through his journey.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents Billy Joe and Elizabeth (Tarver) Paradise, and his brother Robert Paradise.
He is survived by his daughter, Caitlin Paradise; sister Melody Paradise; brothers Trace, and Charles and wife Patricia Paradise; sister-in-law Vicky Paradise; Aunt and cousin Betty and Mandy Tarver; nephews and nieces: Sawyer, Hunter, Christi, Bridget, Nash, Keel, Jason, Justin, Josh, Ainsley, Tarver, and their families. Glen will be missed by numerous fellow musicians and groupies, as well as countless lifelong friends.
Special thanks to the staff at the Arlington Memorial Cancer wing and his care team at the Arlington Cancer Center. Your compassion and guidance through this arduous journey will forever be in our hearts. Heartfelt thanks to Andrea Lehman and Craig Parsons for your unconditional friendship not only to Glen but to his family. We love you all.
