Georgia Lee Reed

Georgia Lee (Benson) Reed, 85 of DeSoto, Texas died on May 25, 2023.

Georgia was born June 5, 1937 to George Russel Benson and Evelyn Arleen (Hillman) Benson. She was an identical twin, second born. Her sister is Bonnie May (Benson) Kramer. Georgia married Roger Raymond Reed Jr. November 11, 1957 in San Gabriel, Los Angeles, California. Roger and Georgia had 59 wonderful years together.

Georgia graduated from San Gabriel High School in 1956. She worked at the Pasadena newspaper until she married Roger. Roger was in the Air Force at Edwards AB. Georgia and Roger stayed in the AF until 1961, when they got out and moved to Dallas, Texas. Georgia was a stay-at-home Mom.

Roger and Georgia moved to Desoto in 1969 where they raised their family. Since 1989, they spent a great deal of time traveling the country.

They have three children, Julie Ann (Reed) Evans, David Austin Reed and Marc Allen Reed. They have five grandchildren, Kenda LeeAnn (Jordan) Heck, Ruben Bustos, Rudy Bustos, Roxanne Reed, and Mycah Reed. They have nine Great Grandchildren, Zaden Heck, Kai Heck, Celeste Bustos, Ruben Bustos, Juliana Bustos, Khloee Coates, Drystan Coates, Austin Reed and Isaiah Gonzales along with two great great grandchildren, Olivia Del Toro and Elias Del Toro.

Georgia lived a very blessed life. Her heart was full and overflowed onto all that knew her. We were blessed to have here in our lives. She is in our hearts forever and will always be missed.
