Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Interment: Historic Grapevine Cemetery, 901 N. Dooley St., Grapevine, TX 76051. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Billy Buhrkuhl, Joey Buhrkuhl, Bryce Buhrkuhl, Connor Buhrkuhl, Troy Buhrkuhl. Honorary Pallbearer: David Buhrkuhl and Toby Buhrkuhl.

George was born May 12, 1945 in Plainview, TX and was raised in Amarillo, TX. George worked as terminal manager for Lone Star Industries for 27 years, 5 years in Amarillo before being promoted to terminal manager in Dallas, TX in 1978 until 1997. George enjoyed dancing, antique shopping, flea markets, camping and fishing, and spending time with friends with his wife, Fran.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alice Buhrkuhl; and brother, Jim Buhrkuhl.
Survivors: Wife, Fran Buhrkuhl of Crowley, TX; sons, Billy Buhrkuhl of Grapevine, TX and Joey Buhrkuhl of Arlington, TX; sister, Emily Dowdy of Lakewood, Colorado; brother, David Buhrkuhl of Tyler, TX; 2 grandsons, Bryce and Connor Buhrkuhl; and 2 granddaughters, Brooke and Brielle Buhrkuhl.
