George Raymond Wright

George Raymond Wright, Jr., 76 peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Fort Worth. A memorial service for George R. Wright Jr. will be conducted, Jan. 23, 2019 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, 2100 N. Davis, Arlington, TX at 11 a.m. Visitation with the family will be from 10-11am in the Church Foyer. George Wright, Jr. was born in Berwyn, IL. to George R. Sr. (Joe) and Virginia Lynch Wright on October 13, 1942. He attended Loyola University – Chicago earning both undergraduate (Bachelor of Science, Political Science) and post-graduate (Master of Science, Industrial Relations) degrees. He was married on December 21, 1996 to Jane Morrow Wright in Colorado Springs, Colorado. George spent most of his career working at Canteen Service Co. which provided him wonderful career experiences and the formation of lifelong friendships. His responsibilities included positions in labor relations, food and vending operations and corporate services. Amidst changes within the organization and ultimate acquisition of Canteen by the Compass Group-USA he faithfully served the Company until his retirement in 2000. From there he continued working as a board member on several committees while also continuing to improve his golf game. George was an avid golfer and enjoyed his membership and friendships made at Shady Valley Golf Club in Arlington. George was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Granahan and his parents. He is loved and survived by his wife Jane Morrow Wright; his son George R. Wright III and his wife, Lisa Kay; brothers Thomas Wright, Richard Wright and wife, Joanna, and Timothy Wright and wife, Susie; sisters Jacqueline Taylor and Mary Lou Connaghan and husband Gerald; grandchildren, Garrett Ryan, Gracelyn Rose and Genevieve Renae; as well as many nieces and nephews. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21) In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to The First Tee; or a charity of your choice. https://thefirsttee.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/donate/ Wade Family Funeral Home (817) 274-9233
